The season of giving! The month of December, we had a toy drive here at Oak Ridge to get Christmas gifts to kids in need in our local community. Thanks to the CIFC for partnering with us every year.
A huge thank you to all the brave men & women for serving our country and protecting our freedoms. Today and every day we are grateful for your sacrifices. A special thanks to those who served here at Oak Ridge! (not all pictured) Happy Veterans Day!
This past October we had our third annual Halloween Coloring Contest! We asked our employee’s children to help us dress up our fleet for Halloween night! Our trucks needed costumes too! We had many talented submissions from spooky to cute! Between the 3 age groups, we had 9 winners! Our first-place winners got to go to Bicycle Center in Brookfield, one of our very own customers, and pick out their favorite bike and helmet as their prize! Our second-place winners got a $100 gift card & our third-place winners got a $50 gift card. We thank everyone who joined in on the fun & we are so excited to do it again next year!

We attended Caffeine & Carburetors in New Canaan on May 21st with the Oak Ridge Race Car. We were so glad to see some smiling faces of our customers there.
At the end of July, we had our Oak Ridge Summer Party. We do this annually to bring together all locations & their families and show our appreciation for how hard they work every day. Already looking forward to next year! #oakridgewaste

The single-stream recycling process takes the hassle out of recycling. ‘Single-stream’ essentially means that the materials are all put into one ‘stream,’ instead of two. This allows you to recycle without separating paper, glass, and plastic before they are set at the curb; instead, we have machines that do the sorting. All materials go into one bin and our truck delivers them to our single-stream facility for the process to begin. This process has been said to be an important step toward meeting our goal of building a zero waste community by 2020!
