As we all face the extreme challenges created by the Covid-19 together, we understand that it is a very anxious period for all of us. Rest assured, we will do all we can to protect you and your family as we do our small part to service and help protect our communities.
At Oak Ridge Waste & Recycling, our highest priority has always been the safety of our employees, customers and communities. As a solid waste and recycling Company we now find ourselves in a very unique situation. Our Team provides an essential service to our communities – not collecting and removing the waste that will be accumulating during this crisis would create another health hazard at the worst possible time.
However with all of the recent business closings, school closings and all non-essential employees now being instructed to work from home, we understand that many businesses are slowing down or unfortunately even temporarily being closed. So in an effort to be good corporate citizens we will do our very best to adjust to your needs including reducing or suspending your service if your business is in a temporary Covid-19 reduction or shutdown.
Please also understand that much like a public utility we are a business providing an “Essential Service” as recognized by the Governor and we are a substantial employer of many of your friends and neighbors. Continuing to do our part especially in these difficult circumstances, to provide the essential services needed by hospitals, medical facilities, grocery stores, takeout food providers, Police and Fire Departments is a responsibility we take very seriously.
We need your support to stay viable through this crisis.
• Please understand that we must request that you please pay all outstanding balances as soon as possible since as we have already incurred the expenses associated with your past service and it is critical that we have the cash flow necessary to continue servicing you as well as the essential businesses and hospitals that need safe and sanitary collection of discarded materials during this crisis.
• Since we are allowing alterations and/or suspensions to your current services during these unprecedented times, we want to remind you that your contracts are still in effect and tolled (paused). Two (2) weeks following the relaxing of the social distancing requirement currently in place by the Government, we will resume regularly contracted service.
• Of course if extenuating circumstances still remain for you or your business after the relaxing of the social distancing requirement we will be happy to discuss that individually and will do our very best to accommodate you.
